Beyond Football
Markus is passionate about giving back and inspiring the next generation. He was named a Celebrity Champion for the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, Inc., and proudly serves as a Play 60 Ambassador, where he adopted Lewis F. Cole Middle School in Fort Lee, New Jersey, encouraging students to get active and lead healthy lifestyles. Every summer, he hosts the Annual Youth Football Camp in his hometown of St. Louis, creating opportunities for young athletes to develop their skills and confidence.
Markus was honored with the Ed Block Courage Award in 2018 by the Arizona Cardinals, recognizing his perseverance, sportsmanship, and courage. In 2016, he was inducted into the Affton High School Hall of Fame, a tribute to his roots and continued impact both on the field and in his community.
